Living With And After Breast Cancer

The experience of having breast cancer can have an impact on different areas of life, physical, emotional, relationships, identity, spirituality and financial.

When you have completed treatment, having information and feeling supported, knowing who to contact and when, can help to reduce uncertainty and anxiety. Spending time with others who have had similar experiences can be helpful for some people and there are local support groups as well as nationally organised forums. In addition the Penny Brohn Cancer Centre runs “ Living well with cancer “ courses for individuals which can be residential or day attendance near Bristol.

Breast Cancer Care has produced a resource called “Moving Forward for people living with or beyond breast cancer”. This is a folder with separate sections of advice and information. Copies of these are available from your Breast Care Nurse or from the radiotherapy department.

This page lists other organisations who can provide help, information and support in different ways.
