Living with a cancer diagnosis can be a challenge, for some it can have a long lasting effect on wellbeing and the ability to cope as well as quality of life. People affected in this way may also experience depression and anxiety.
Somerset Partnership Talking Therapies can help people understand and better manage their difficulties including their reaction to their cancer. The service will help you look at how thinking and behaviour can impact on your reactions to your general wellbeing when living with and beyond cancer. Emphasis is on learning new skills to practice that might help you manage your difficulties better.
You can either be referred by your GP or another health professional or you can refer yourself. Self-referral forms and further information can be found on the Talking Therapies website www.sompar.nhs.uk/talking-therapies. Once a referral has been received a member of the Talking Therapies team will contact you.
